Idea Lab Concept: Design a virtual watch concept that mirrored the cars aggressive lines along with colored gemstones that enhance its sporty look while still expressing a luxury feel.

Collectors Vision: To design a custom ring from scratch using his tattoo as a focal point. Ring must be bold, with hand crafted elements.
Idea Lab Concept: To design a legacy piece that captures his lifestyle and spirit while including details that were meaningful to him.
Collectors Vision: To create timeless rings Celebrating 50 years of their family business, to be presented at a special company event.
Idea Lab Concept: To design rings that have a high technical degree of complication, exudes class and commemorates their company Magnolia and their personalities.

The making of Steve Soffa’s Hannibal Ring:
All of Hannibal’s parts are carved in wax by hand, then cast in different colors of gold accented by champagne or white diamond eyes. The moth is then lasered in the gallery of the ring.
The design process of the Chief: All of Chiefs parts are carved in wax by hand, then cast in different colors of gold accented by round and baguette diamonds in the headdress, Sapphires, Black and White diamonds in the headband and eyes and finished in White and Rose Gold. Other colors such as yellow gold give a nice contrast as well.

His collector then called Davis and wanted to donate his car to a military charity. As a former crew member of the U.S. Coast guard Davis was compelled him to help out. Steve Soffa:“Master auto builder P.J. Davis designed an amazing 1932 roadster for Major league baseball’s Cy Young Award-winner Roy “Doc” Halliday. Davis named the 1932 roadster “Kate,” which dated back to days of the Old West, in which the real “Doc” Holliday’s girlfriend’s name was Kate. When Davis was approached for this project he rendered a blueprint of what it would look like. Every aspect of his artwork on the gas tank was drawn again to scale in proportion to a watch dial. This dial was cast in four dimensions combined with beautiful colors that were inlayed.” CASE STUDY

Because this collector had a love for the diamond shape, I designed two diamond dog tags that are distinctly different in the stone setting colors that represent each daughter.
