The Aston Martin Pendant and Timepiece

A car collector’s vision comes to life…

This custom Aston Martin F1 Pendant and Watch was designed to match one of my collector’s cars.
I produced a collection of virtual designs as a starting point, in order to be able to share the vision with the collector. Over the course of the design process, colors and stone selection may change from the initial comps presented.

The most important part of designing custom “one-off” pieces is the technical aspect. Overall dimensions, stone sizes, separate parts that fit correctly and to determine the final look.

The CAD designs show different angled-views: The Aston Martin Pendant is finished in 18k white gold with a separate 18k rose gold bale. Over 445 blue AAA grade sapphires and VS-F grade diamonds were set individually.
The Aston Martin logo was crafted in 18k white gold, then finished in white enamel.

Production and Wax Carving Process

Here are some progress shots, taken during the dial and bracelet assembly for the watch.

The pendant is first carved in wax prior to the casting process, shown in closer detail below.

And now, here are the finals!

The Aston Martin timepiece was crafted in stainless steel and each hole was drilled by hand (not pre-set drilled by a CNC machine). Over 600 AAA grade sapphires and VS-F grade diamonds
were set. The dial is die struck in 3D with the border painted in black and F1 painted in blue, with diamond hour markings. The hands were anodized in blue to match the colors of the blue sapphires.
The case back was engraved and the bracelet boasted a hideaway clasp.

Soffa says “These are beautiful masterpieces that exude the collectors lifestyle and love for his car”
